The Dermasound ultrasonic facial treatment uses low frequency ultrasonic sound waves and micro-current to gently cleanse, exfoliate, and tone the skin (*). It is an excellent treatment to help nourish dry skin, control oil and calm inflamed skin as seen with acne and rosacea (*). When combined with topical formulations such as peptides, antioxidants and growth factors it is the perfect treatment that can be customized for the individual. It may be used in combination with other procedures such as facials, chemical peels and photo-rejuvenation or as a stand alone treatment.
Step 1: Cleansing/Peeling
Water is used during the first phase to cleanse or peel the outer most (dead) layer of skin. Sound waves are used to quickly spin water thereby loosening up and removing dead cells, dirt and oils. This cleansing creates a gentle and effective exfoliation without causing irritation or inflammation. This phase is excellent in reducing blackheads, acne and enlarged pores (*).
Step 2: Infusion/Sonophoresis
During the second phase of the Dermasound treatment, products customized to treat the individual’s needs are “pushed” into the skin. The Dermasound uses sonophoresis to create temporary openings in the skin which allow serums and other products to penetrate the epidermis more easily allowing the skin to be nourished with moisturizers, antioxidants, brighteners and growth factors, thereby making them more effective (*).
Step 3: Microcurrent
During the final phase of treatment a low level electrical current is used to normalize cells’ electrical charge that have been disrupted as a result of normal aging processes as well as environmental stressors (*). When a cell is disrupted it does not regulate the flow of nutrients and wastes as well. By promoting better cell function the Dermasound aids in the healing and calming of inflamed skin while increasing skin tone by tightening collagen (*).
